Liverpool 1-1 Derby County Liverpool lost another 2 points as the failed to beat Derby at Anfield. Deon Burton put Derby ahead early on when he knocked the ball in from a corner, but despite an almost totally one sided remainder of the game, Liverpool were unable to turn the game around. They did manage to get back on level terms, but had to wait until seven minutes into the second half when Owen bundled the ball over the line at at the second attempt. Owen was once again in brilliant form after his good display against Porto, and came close to winning the game for Liverpool with a shot that was just wide after some great footwork, but at the other end Sander Westerweld was forced into making a good save in the last 5 minutes. The result leaves Liverpool 6th in the Premier League, but with games in hand.
