24.08.2005 - Champions League group stage draw information
The final eight Champions League qualifying games were played tonight, with all 32 qualifiers for tomorrow's draw now known.
Ajax, Man United, Inter Milan and Rangers were among the sides to safely make it through to the group stage tonight, though there was disappointment for Everton, who lost on aggregate to Villareal following a controversial second leg tie at El Madrigal.
Liverpool will be among the top seeds in tomorrow's draw, and will avoid being drawn in a group containing Real Madrid, Milan, Barcelona, Man United, Inter, Bayern Munich or Arsenal.
However, the Reds could be in a group which includes Chelsea or Juventus, both among the second seeds, as are Gerard Houllier's new club, Lyon.
Artmedia Bratislava, who shocked Celtic in the second qualifying round, are one of the surprise names who will be in the draw, and are the only side other than Liverpool to have made it this far having started in the first qualifying round.
The full list of qualifiers is as follows:
Pot 1: Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Liverpool, Man United, Inter, Bayern Munich, Arsenal.
Pot 2: Porto, Juventus, PSV Eindhoven, Lyon, Panathinaikos, Chelsea, Villarreal, Ajax.
Pot 3: Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Olympiakos, Schalke '04, Sparta Praha, Lille, Rangers, Werder Bremen.
Pot 4: Benfica, Rosenborg, Real Betis, Udinese, Fenerbahce, Rapid Vienna, FC Thun, FC Petrzalka.
The draw takes place at 16.00CET.
