A number of Liverpool players were in action for their countries tonight, on busy night of International action.

Pepe Reina, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Morientes all started in Spain's win over Uruguay, with Luis Garcia making an appearance as a second half sub.

Steve Finnan was part of the Ireland team which lost 2-1 at home to Italy, while Dietmar Hamann helped Germany to a 2-2 draw away to Holland.

Djibril Cisse also won himself an additional cap, after appearing late on for France in their 3-0 win over the Ivory Coast.
