12.05.2005 - Baros unhappy at lack of action
Milan Baros has hit out at the lack of full games he has been given by Rafa Benitez in an attack on the Spanish coach which could harm his chances of featuring in the Champions League final later this month.
Baros has played in 43 games this season though has completed the full 90 minutes on just 13 occasions.
And according to the Czech striker, who was talking to Czch newspaper Pravo, Liverpool fans haven't seen the best of him due to the way he has been used this season.
"It is not true that I had or have had disputes with Benitez, but I am annoyed that when I'm fit I only warm the bench. Or when Benitez takes me off during a game even if I haven't used up all my energy on the pitch. I need to play. Only then will I be better than I am now," Baros said.
Baros, who has scored just three tims since mid-November, was said to have been furious after been left on the bench for the Carling Cup Final.
And he will have upset Benitez further after his red card for violent conduct during the Merseyside derby, which earned him a three match ban at a time when Liverpool were without all of their other four senior strikers.
With Djibril Cisse now fit and close to being ready for a first start in six-and-a-half months, it remains to be seen whether Baros' comments will cost him a starting place in Liverpool's biggest game for 20 years on May 25th.
