18.03.2005 - Reds to face Juventus

Champions League

Liverpool will play Italian giants Juventus in the quarter final of the Champions League.

Goals from Luis Garcia and Milan Baros in Leverkusen saw the Reds safely through to the last eight of the competition for the second time in three years, but Rafa Benitez and his players will face their toughest test of the season when they come up against one of the strongest sides involved in this year's competition.

Juventus are currently joint top of Serie A with Milan, and their Champions League successes of this season have been based on a tight defence, which has kept six clean sheets from eight games so far.

Liverpool will be at home for the first leg on April 5, with the return leg on April 13.

The draw for the semi final was also made, and should Liverpool make it past Juventus, they will play either Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
