13.03.2005 - Carra to remain a Red for life
Jamie Carragher has stated that he wants to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career, and believes that he can win the biggest trophies in football while at the club.
Carragher has yet again been among Liverpool's best and most consistent performers this season, and he's given his club boss Rafa Benitez a massive boost by insisting that he never intends to leave Anfield.
"I’ve never even thought about leaving," Carragher said. "I want to stay here. When I say that, it's not talk. I really mean it."
Benitez has frequently spoken of how much he rates the versatile defender, and earlier in the season claimed that Carragher was the best defender in England.
And Carragher is hopeful that the Spaniard can eventually build a side which can challenge for the game's major honours, although he's not expecting instant success and believes that Benitez will need time if he's to lead Liverpool to Premiership or Champions League success.
"We’re not at that level yet. But the new manager, if he can bring in a few more players, can get us to that level."
