New signings Fernando Morientes and Mauricio Pellegrino will make their Liverpool debut against Man United at Anfield this afternoon.

Morientes will be aiming to continue an amazing scoring record which has seen him net on his debut for every previous club he's played for, and also in his first game for Spain, when he scored twice in his the first five minutes of a match against Sweden.

The former Real Madrid forward completed his move to Merseyside yesterday morning, and signed in time to be registered to play in today's match against Liverpool's biggest rivals.

Pellegrino meanwhile is likely to start at centre back, with Carragher filling in at right back in the absence of both Finnan and Josemi.

The Reds have lost this fixture by a 2-1 scoreline on each of the previous two occasions, and will be hoping to record only their fifth home win in the Premiership against United.
