29.08.2004 - Spanish duo start but no place for Cisse

Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia will make their debuts for Liverpool this afternoon, with both players included in the starting line up to face Bolton.

Alonso, a £10.7million signing from Real Sociedad, and Luis Garcia, who cost £6million from Barcelona, were signed too late to feature last week against Man City, and weren't registered for the Champions League qualifying match in midweek, though the pair will finally play their first Liverpool match at the Reebok Stadium.

However, there's no place in the side for Djibril Cisse, who starts on the bench, and Stephen Warnock makes his first Premiership start.

El Hadji Diouf is unavailable for Bolton due to Premiership rules which prevent loaned players from playing against the clubs who they've been loaned from, and the Senegalese forward faces an even longer wait before he can make his Bolton debut.

Liverpool: Dudek, Josemi, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Xabi Alonso, Hamann, Gerrard, Warnock, Baros, Luis Garcia.
