15.08.2004 - Diouf departs as Bolton complete loan deal
El Hadji Diouf will remain in the Premiership this season, after signing for Bolton on a year long loan deal.
The player has been strongly linked with a move to Spain, with Malaga interested in taking the controversial African on loan, but Diouf will extend his stay in the North West, joining Sam Allardyce's fast improving Bolton squad.
Allardyce confirmed earlier this week that he was hoping to agree a deal to take Diouf to the Reebok Stadium, and after completing the move to Lancashire, Diouf becomes the sixth member of the Reds' squad to leave on loan.
Diouf has scored just 6 goals for Liverpool in two years since his £10million move from Lens, and was left without a squad number for over a month after Djibril Cisse was handed the number 9 shirt.
Though despite last week being given the number 19 shirt, his Liverpool days still look numbered, with the player not currently part of Rafael Benitez's long term plans.
