14.08.2004 - Madrid midfielder looking forward to Anfield move
Antonio Nunez has said it will be a 'dream come true' to play for Liverpool and the midfielder believes the deal to take him to Anfield is close to completion.
Nunez will sign from Real Madrid as part of the deal which saw Michael Owen move to the Spanish giants yesterday, and having made only a handful of appearances with Real, all as substitute, he is hoping for more success on Merseyside.
"Last season, I found out how hard it would be to play at Real and I know Liverpool will be the same, but I hope to get some more minutes on the pitch," he said.
"It is never going to be satisfactory leaving the best team in the world, but playing for Liverpool is a dream come true for any player. The deal is almost done."
Nunez plays on the right side of midfield, although Rafa benitez yesterday hinted that he may not be the only right midfielder who will be added to the squad, with speculation growing that Luis Garcia could also be on his way from Barcelona.
Liverpool have lost Anthony Le Tallec on loan, Vladimir Smicer to long term injury, and Danny Murphy this week completed his move away from the club which has left Benitez short of right sided options, and is set to start Steve Finnan in midfield for this afternoon's clash with Spurs.
