27.07.2004 - Cisse, Henchoz net first goals in Reds win
Djibril Cisse came off the bench to score twice in Liverpool's second pre-season game, and there was also a first Liverpool goal for Stephane Henchoz in a 5-1 win over Celtic in Connecticut.
In the first of Liverpool's trio of games in North America, the Reds were ahead jutst four minutes in, thanks to John Arne Riise's 25 yard strike.
Riise then turned provider as he set up Owen for Liverpool's second of the night on 17 minutes. The Norwegian's long ball found Owen, and he finished by lobbing the ball over David Marshall in the Celtic goal from just outside the box.
The Scottish Premier League champions lost their opening Champions World match with a 4-2 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, and a second defeat was a certainty when Djibril Cisse gave Liverpool a 3-0 lead after little more than an hour, and Stephane Henchoz increased the Reds' lead even further six minutes later.
The Swiss defender had previously not scored a single goal in his five years since signing for Blackburn, but was delighted to send a volley into the back of the Celtic net.
Craig Beattie grabbed one back for Celtic, but Cisse was to have the final word, with a low strike from 12 yards after a fine run down the right which included a neat one-two with Danny Murphy.
Liverpool's next match is in Toronto on Friday against the European Champions, Porto.
