07.07.2004 - Milan confirms Madrid interest
Euro 2004 top scorer Milan Baros has claimed that Real Madrid have been in talks with his agent over a possible move for him by the Spanish giants.
Ahead of the Real Madrid presidential elections, which are due to take place on Sunday, Lorenzo Sanz, one of the three candidates, yesterday claimed that Baros would be one of the players that he would attract to the Bernebeu should he be successful in becoming club president.
Sanz said: "If we win the election, Maniche and Baros will be at the disposal of Real Madrid coach Jose Antonio Camacho from next Monday." Sanz, however, went on to say that no contact had yet been made with Liverpool.
Baros has today told Czech TV that Sanz has spoken to his agent, and an offer was made, but insisted he intends still to report back to Melwood on July 19 for pre-season training.
