27.06.2004 - Baros double sees Czechs into last four
Milan Baros moved to the top of the Euro 2004 goalscoring chart after two more goals which helped the Czech Republic to a 3-0 win over Denmark, and semi final place.
A headed goal by Jan Koller shortly after half time put the Czechs in front, after a first half which had seen few chances for either side.
And within quarter of an hour, the lead had been increased by two goals in as many minutes by Milan Baros, the first which was lifted delightfully over the 'keeper from close range.
The second goal for Baros was another impressive strike, and arrived after he was played through on goal by Nedved, with the Liverpool man firing a powerful shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the area, beating Aston Villa's Thomas Sorensen.
Baros was denied the chance of a hat-trick after being brought off with around 20 minutes to go, but the goals took his tally to five for the tournament, one ahead of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney.
The Czech Republic will now face Greece on Thursday for a place in the final, with Holland and Portugal contesting the other semi final match on Wednesday.
