23.06.2004 - Chelsea admit Gerrard interest
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has confirmed that he'd like to see Steven Gerrard at Stamford Bridge, should the Reds' captain become available.
The Liverpool player of the season has been strongly linked with a big moeny move to Chelsea when he returns from Euro 2004, with some sources claiming a deal has already been agreed between the two clubs.
And Kenyon has admitted that he would like to see Gerrard at Chelsea, alongside Frank Lampard, who is currently Gerrard's partner in the England midfield.
Kenyon said: "If it were to be possible, then we would be genuinely interested. It has been interesting to see how well he has played with Frank Lampard."
Gerrard has yet to comment on the speculation.
