29.10.2003 - Liverpool team to face Blackburn

Harry Kewell is rested from the Liverpool starting line up for the first time since his summer transfer for Liverpool's Carling Cup 3rd round clash at Blackburn tonight.

The Australian will still be in the squad though, and is part of a Reds bench which also contains Dietmar Hamann who is included in a first team squad for the first time this season.

Michael Owen is rested, but Emile Heskey keeps his place, and partners Sinama-Pongolle up front.

Lucas Neill returns for Blackburn, playing his first game since completing a 3 match ban for his leg breaking challenge on Jamie Carragher last month, and Markus Babbel also returns, having spent a short spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Liverpool: Kirkland, Biscan, Traore, Hyypia, Henchoz, Diouf, Gerrard, Murphy, Le Tallec, Sinama-Pongolle, Heskey.

Subs: Dudek, Riise, Finnan, Kewell, Hamann.
