Stephane Henchoz will start his first Liverpool match since August at Fratton Park this afternoon, lining up alongside Sami Hyypia in the centre of the Reds' defence.

Henchoz was a second half substitute in Wednesday's win over Olimpija Ljubljana but goes straight into the starting line up today as Liverpool aim to pick up their first Premiership points for almost a month at Portsmouth.

Igor Biscan will start in midfield, with Anthony Le Tallec dropping to the bench. Vladimir Smicer and El Hadji Diouf will play in the wide positions, with Kewell starting up front with Emile Heskey.

Kirkland, Pongolle, Traore, Welsh complete the Liverpool bench.
