11.10.2003 - Pongolle on target as France cruise through

France under-21's recorded yet another win this afternoon, this time against Israel, as they completed the group stage of the Euro 2004 qualifiers.

Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle both started the match, as did Alou Diarra and it was Pongolle who netted the first in a comfortable 2-0 win.

The French under-21 side have won 7 and drawn 1 of their 8 games, conceding not even a single goal in the qualification round so far, with Pongolle scoring the winning goal half of their matches.

But with a format which doesn't even see the group winners gain automatic qualification to the finals, the team still has work to do and Le Tallec and co must wait until Monday's draw to find out who they'll face in their play-off.
