31.08.2003 - Kirkland dropped from England squad
Chris Kirkland has been left out of the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2004 qualifiers against Macedonia and Leichtenstein.
Kirkland has been kept out of the Liverpool side by the fantastic early season form of Jerzy Dudek, and he has now lost his place in the England squad with Leicester's Ian Walker replacing him.
However, Liverpool still have four players in the squad with Steve Gerrard, Danny Murphy, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey all included, but Jamie Carragher again misses out, despite taking John Arne Riise's place in the Liverpool team.
England face Macedonia away on Saturday, with the Leichtenstein match taking place the following Wednesday at Old Trafford.
