Igor Biscan is likely to be handed a first team start by Gerard Houllier on Sunday, as Liverpool begin their Premiership campaign at home to Chelsea.

Biscan impressed in midfield during the weekend against Valencia and with btoh Steven Gerrard and Dietmar Hamann unavailable, the Croatian looks set to fill in against Claudio Ranieri's men.

Houllier also revealed that a number of European clubs had shown an interest in the player, but says Biscan is not available to buy or loan.
