03.06.2003 - Cisse still dreaming of Anfield move
Djibril Cisse has again spoke of his desire to play for Liverpool, saying that he dreams of playing for the club.
Speaking to France Football magazine, Cisse said: "I want to go and see what happens in England. In life you have to take risks and I know at Liverpool they want me. If I don't join them now I will be disappointed."
"I have been at Auxerre for seven years now. I am 22 years old and it is essential for my evolution. Now that the season is over with Auxerre, it is not a secret any more, I can openly say it: I wish to leave," added the striker.
Cisse has recently been valued at £10million, though it is understood that Liverpool will be prepared to pay slightly more to persuade Auxerre to part with the player who has been scouted by the majority of Europe's leading clubs over the past 18 months.
Meanwhile, another Frenchman is set to arrive on Merseyside in time for pre-season training, with Christian Damiano set to replace Jacques Crevoisier as first team coach at the club.
Crevoisier resigned yesterday so that he could return to France where he could spend more time with his family.
Damiano has worked with Gerard Houllier previously with the French Football Federation and he was assistant manager when Houllier's French under-18 side were crowned European Champions.
The well respected coach has been out of work since leaving his position as assistant manager at Fulham, following Jean Tigana's dismissal at the end of last season.
