Neil Mellor misses Liverpool's game with Southampton this evening, with Emile Heskey returning to the starting eleven.

Salif Diao misses the game through suspension, and he is replaced by Djimi Traore, with Riise moving into a midfield position. Diouf is expected to play on the right wing.

Subs: Dudek, Baros, Smicer, Biscan, Cheyrou.

The Reds will be aiming to put an end to a run of league results which has seen them take just 5 points from a possible 33, with no league win since the opening weekend in November. Liverpool have twice beaten Southampton already this season, though their only previous visit to St Mary's ended in a 2-0 defeat.
