12.12.2002 - Liverpool v Vitesse: Team News

Chris Kirkland is set to remain in goal for tonight's second leg of Liverpool's UEFA Cup match against Vitesse Arnhem, though the match may see a couple of important players rested, with an important league match away to Sunderland just a few days away.

Dietmar Hamann may be left out, as he was in the first leg, with Salif Diao partnering Gerrard in midfield once more, while Emile Heskey looks set to miss the game through injury which could mean areturn to the side for John Arne Riise.

After impressing during the last two matches, El Hadji Diouf could keep his place in the side while John Welsh could be in the squad once more, after a good display on his first team debut against Ipswich last week.

Vitesse slipped further down the Dutch league last weekend, when they were beaten 2-0 away to NEC, a result which moved them into 12th place in the table.

News of the match will be available here later this evening.
