Liverpool are without Steven Gerrard for this afternoon's clash with Leeds at Elland Road. Gerrard has failed to recover from the hip injury which he collected while on England duty, and the midfielder is also doubtful for Liverpool's Champions League game away to Spartak Moscow next week.

Emile Heskey is also ruled out of the game after picking up a groin injury while with England, and Stephane Henchoz is still around 3 weeks away from returning to the first team after his recent operation.

Danny Murphy, Vladimir Smicer and Markus Babbel look set to be in the squad though, for a game which could see Liverpool top the table, if only for 3 hours until Arsenal have played Everton later this afternoon.
