Florent Sinama-Pongolle was again the match winner for the French under-21 side tonight, as they beat Slovenia to go top of their qualifying group.

The highly rated forward, who will join Liverpool next summer, is not 18 until next week but has been performing well for club side, Le Havre. Pongolle was also the only scorer in France' previous game in the competition, when they beat Cyprus 1-0.

Anthony Le Tallec, who will also join Liverpool next summer, and Alou Diarra, who signed for Liverpool this year but is currently on loan at Le Havre, also played in both games.
