25.09.2002 - Reds prepare to host 100th Euro fixture

Anfield will host Liverpool's 100th home match in Europe tonight, when the Reds take on FC Basel in the Champions League, hoping to get their first points of this season's competition following defeat in Valencia last week.

Dietmar Hamann is suspended for the match, and both Babbel and Smicer are said to be a couple of weeks from making a return to first team football, but other than Didi's absence, Gerard Houllier will have the same squad of players to select from as he did last Saturday for the game against West Brom.

In the other Group B game being played tonight, Spartak Moscow play host to Valencia, hoping to get their first points after losing 2-0 in Basel last week.

News of both games will be added here alter this evening.
