16.06.2001 - Senegal and Spain make it through in World Cup
Senegal and Spain became the third and fourth nations to qualify for the World Cup quarter finals, after two highly dramatic matches.
Senegal came from a goal down against Sweden to win thanks to an extra time 'Golden Goal', scored by Henry Camara, while Spain left it even later to go through against Ireland, with a penalty shoot-out needed to separate the teams after a 1-1 draw.
Liverpool's El Hadji Diouf once again starred for Senegal, but Salif Diao was still suspended and will also miss his country's quarter final tie, which is against Turkey or Japan.
