Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Liverpool
Goals from Owen, Heskey and Gerrard earned Liverpool a first win at White Hart Lane since 1996.
Liverpool's line up was the same as the side which had started at Parkhead during midweek, as they travelled to North London hoping to close the gap on Everton and Chelsea to move closer to a place in next season's Champions League.
The first half saw little in terms of goalscoring chances, with Michael Owen the only
player to force the opposition keeper into making a save when he fired a shot straight at Kasey Keller.
Steve Gerrard was the only other Liverpool player to try his luck at goal, completing a move started by Gerrard, who played an excellent ball to Murphy, who gave it back to Gerrard, and his strike flew narrowly wide of the left hand post.
Spurs most dangerous attack came shortly before half time when Matthew Etherington set Simon Davies away down the left, but there was no Spurs players able to get a touch on Davies' dangerous ball across goal.
The second period couldn't be much worse as a spectacle, though once Mauricio Tarricco had opened the scoring after three minutes of the restart, the match came to life.
Tarricco struck a shot from long range which Dudek made a mess of and the ball rolled behind him and into the back of the net.
Liverpool's first half performance certainly wasn't going to be good enough to see them get back into the game, but they responded to the goal well, and were on level terms within two minutes of the Spurs goal, after Steven Gerrard crossed the ball across the face of goal and Owen converted the chance at the far post.
Owen could have added a second of the afternoon after he made a run at the Spurs defence and fired a shot from a tight angle, though Keller was equal to it.
Jerzy Dudek was not looking quite so comfortable in the opposite goal however, and he was fortunate to get away with conceding a corner from what looked like a routine save from a Simon Davies shot. From the resulting corner, Gus Poyet hit a shot wide of the Reds' goal.
The second half was a far more exciting affair than the first half, and on 71 minutes, Emile Heskey netted the third goal of the second half, when he headed in a chipped ball into the area by Gerrard.
Liverpool were on course to win a Premier League game after going behind for the first time since last season's Goodison derby, and looked even more certain of going on to win the game when a quick Liverpool break led by Steven Gerrard saw the Reds' midfielder pick the the ball from his own half and make a chargind run forward which ended with Gerrard firing low into the bottom corner.
Gerard Houllier's first win at White Hart Lane was only minutes away, but Liverpool had to survive a late pressure from Spurs, during which time Teddy Sheringham got a goal back for the home side.
Liverpool remain in 6th place, though are now a point closer to fourth place, with 8 games still to play, starting with a home clash with Leeds United at Anfield next weekend.
